Weddings

Mr. & Mrs. Haley & Jared Bartling

The day started at Meadow Barn with the girls getting ready in the bridal suite. Hair and makeup was by Lacey Mae Hair and Makeup Artist. Kaylynn with Krush Beauty also did makeup for the bridal party.

Allana with Studiofotografie captured the day with her amazing photos. The videography and paper products were done by the talented Brekan Peterson with Brekan Designs. The Flower Mill did the florals that brought the barn wood tables in the venue to life!

Christine and Ryan Egan did the live music for the ceremony. After the couple said their "I do's," the guests enjoyed cocktail hour. Cocktail hour was such a fun time with yard games in the beautiful August weather. Rentals by Ideal Wedding completed the table settings with some finishing touches by Simply Devine and Prairie Lane.

Cake and dessert was by the Cake Lady. Dinner was catered in by Central Catering. Matt at DJ Jer led the evening with music and emceeing. A sparkler send off ended the night as the bridal party was taken on a ride around town with Royal Limo.

Jared and Haley, thank you SO much for letting us be a part of your big day. It was truly a  blast to enjoy the evening with you as you celebrated the love you share. We wish you all the happiness in the world!

XOXO

Mr. & Mrs. Joe & Rachel Welch

This was such a fun day. Love was in the air and the excitement was real as these two celebrated their marriage! The girls started off by getting at Meadow Barn in their gorgeous Bridal Suite with hair and makeup by Platinum Imagination and Julie Eddy!

The photography by Suzie Richards truly captured the essence of the day and showed the beauty of this day! Wholly Cowen's videography was there to capture the love on video. Meadow Barn was a great place to celebrate this beautiful August ceremony.

Ideal provided the rentals for the tables making the venue complete in addition to the gorgeous florals by Elaborations by Joyce Naber. The couple had a great time celebrating their marriage surrounded by family and friends. Following the ceremony, the guests enjoyed cocktail hour while the bridal party enjoyed their limo ride by Sky Lounge.

Central Catering provided the food for the guests to enjoy. There was a beautiful dessert table with Taylor'ed Cakes cupcakes and a cake for the bride and groom. Eran from DJ Jer led the reception and kept the guests entertained all night long!

THANK YOU, Joe & Rachel, for trusting Loghin as your wedding planner. We are so grateful that you let us be part of your big day!

Mr. & Mrs. Cooper & Candace Waln

Wow! This wedding was one of a kind! No details were missed and the style of the day was so elegant. From small town South Dakota, this couple wanted to switch it up a bit & I was ALL over that :)

The gals started their day at the Clubhouse Hotel getting their hair & makeup done by Shelon Artistry. Greg & LaRea Photography did a stellar job capturing all the details of the day. Copper & Candace had a beautiful Cathedral wedding complete with florals from The Flower Mill.

After they said "I DO" they left in the Stellar Limo Hummer Bus. The reception was held at the District and the room looked incredible! Ideal Wedding & Events did a great job with rentals & draping while DJ JER added lighting enhancements.

How about that cake though!? The Cake Lady did awesome job creating this beauty for Copper & Candace! AJ Productions played a same day edit at the reception for the guests to see the behind the scenes of the big day. Confetti Creative created the most beautiful & unique invitations & paper productions.

The couple & their guests danced the night away to Dustin Evans Band!

Thank you Candace & Copper for trusting us to help create this day for you!

A Look Into A Wedding Planner's Wedding

30739790_10217563398135547_1367566781601808384_o.jpg

January 20th, 2018 was my very first wedding of the 2018 wedding season & it was also my very own! We had so many amazing vendors that made our wedding day a dream come true.

30716514_10217563231771388_3803749674448322560_o.jpg

Our venue was located in Sioux City, IA at the Orpheum Theatre. The theatre has so much charm & beauty already & it was PERFECT for my “Beauty & The Beast” themed wedding. I mean, those chandeliers … JAW DROPPING!

I can’t thank Allana Rogge with Studiofotografie enough for capturing such detail of our perfect day.I owe a huge thank you to Miss Loghin for listening to all of my last minute decisions weeks, days, & minutes leading up to the wedding.

While I was getting my hair & make-up done by Shelon with Shelon Artistry & spending time with my bridal party, Loghin was busy setting up 300+ rose folded napkins, turning on hundreds of LED candles, setting out our wedding cake made by Delectables along with additional desserts for our guests, putting together a chocolate fountain station provided by Ideal Wedding & Events, & also a hot chocolate station.

30744043_10217563364054695_9066667264547225600_o.jpg

On top of all of that she was coordinating with vendors, keeping track of the timeline, & guiding family members in the right direction who came from far away & wanted to help with anything they could. Yes, I am a wedding planner & even I needed a day of coordinator!

The ceremony was located in the theatre on stage complete with a rose ceremony to tie in the theme — even some Beauties & the Beast themselves made an appearance! We had PINStudios to capture our entire day from start to finish for us to watch for years to come — almost a year later & I STILL cry every time I watch it.

30743429_10217563347014269_7466359946091692032_o.jpg

We also were lucky enough to have Chris Hintz himself from Pinnacle Productions to keep the dance floor full all night long. Chris & his team also put together a mix of songs for my first dance with my dad & also did a voice over for a surprise for my mom.

As if the dance party didn’t keep the guests entertained we also had a mirror photo booth provided by Pinnacle Productions which made great favors for guests to take home!

31131322_10217563221131122_9158975865608994816_o.jpg

My husband & I also had our very own favor to take home by having Jillian Artistry there to capture our first dance through a LIVE painting that our guests got to watch throughout the night.

Our day was amazing but also had plenty of bumps from our ring bearer only making it halfway down the aisle, our best man dropping my ring during the middle of the ceremony, our chocolate fountain running out of chocolate, & our wedding, in the middle of January, with zero snow & 50 degrees. None of those small things mattered because at the end of the day, all of our close friends & family were in the same place celebrating us & I got to marry my best friend. Our hearts were full then & still continue to grow fuller to this day!

Thank you for taking a look into my big day!

XOXO,

Mr. & Mrs. Alex & Gabrielle Kusek

This gorgeous winter day began with the bridal party getting all dolled up at the Hilton Garden Inn in downtown Sioux Falls! Landon Blow and Amanda Black did the hair and makeup for the party while Bombshell Beauty did the bride's makeup.

Next came the couple's first look on the Riverwalk where Alex got to see Gabby in her stunning gown! Dan Thorson was the couple's photographer and he was there to capture every perfect moment!

Then came time for the ceremony held at The Cathedral of St. Joseph! It was an incredible background for Alex & Gabby's first kiss as husband and wife!

After the ceremony, guests headed to the Hilton Garden Inn to enjoy the reception! Their delicious meal was provided by an in-house caterer, and the Cake Lady created the gorgeous set of cakes for the dessert table! Queen City bakery provided an array of delicious desserts. Joyce Naber put together all of the eclectic flower and table arrangements.

After the delicious meal, toasts, and first dance, guests were able to enjoy the party while the live band, R Factor, kept everybody on their feet all night! DJ Jer put his amazing lighting skills to work as he lit up the entire ballroom for the night!

Gabby and Alex, thank you SO much for letting us be a part of this incredible day! Wishing you nothing but love & happiness for years to come. Cheers!

Mr. & Mrs. Cole & Chelsea DeBoer

This perfect day started off with the bridal party having their hair and makeup done by Beauty by Blow at The Factory. They even had adorable mismatched plaids to wear while getting dolled up!

Next came Chelsea & Cole's first look at Leif Erickson! Jake Photography captured this special moment for both of them, and just look at how sweet Cole's reaction was! Chelsea & Cole were married in a private ceremony before the birth of their sweet baby boy, Watson.

After pictures it was time to head over to the reception! Flower Mill supplied the gorgeous arrangements of fall flowers. Chef Dominique's Catering catered dinner and The Cake Lady created the best cake to match the day's fall theme.

Later into the night, DJ Jer kept the party going and got everybody out on the dance floor. Jake Photography photographed their whole day, and AJ Production Company did the videography so every moment of Chelsea & Cole's perfect day was captured.

Chelsea and Cole, thank you SO much for letting us be a part of your day! It was such a beautiful and fun day to celebrate the love you share.

Mr. & Mrs. Taylor & Madeline Juhl

WOW! This wedding was pure magic. Every last detail was spot on and the day was so perfect. We LOVED their Cathedral of Saint Joseph ceremony followed by a reception at The Country Club of Sioux Falls. Madeline started of her big day with her girls at the Hilton Garden Inn Downtown getting their hair and makeup completed by Bombshell Beauty & Shelon Artistry.

The day was photographed beautifully by A.Jo Fotografi. The florals were completed by Meredith & Bridget's Flower Shop. The soft tones of the flower mixed with the elegant look of the attire made a perfect match.

The ceremony was a beautiful Catholic mass at the Cathedral.

DJ CHRIS HINTZ with Pinnacle Productions lead the night with great tunes & a Photo Booth. Ideal Wedding & Events provided the rentals to make the reception sparkle. While the couple's wedding guests made their way to the cocktail hour, Mr. & Mrs. Juhl hopped on a bus with their bridal party provided by Stellar Limo.

What a beautiful couple! THANK YOU for choosing Loghin to help assist and design your big day! We are so happy for you two!

Mr. & Mrs. Chaz & Anna Fey

This wedding was extra special to me because it was the day my best friend & cousin, Anna, married her best friend, Chaz. I was so honored to be her Maid of Honor & also her wedding planner. We did all of the planning together and Jessica did the day of coordination.

Chaz & Anna wanted a private ceremony with their closest friends and family. Icon Lounge & Event Hall in downtown Sioux Falls was the ceremony venue and it was absolutely beautiful! The ladies started off their day by getting their hair and makeup completed by Platinum Imagination & Shelon Artistry!

The couple agreed to not see each other before the ceremony which led to amazing emotions and beautiful memories! Anna & her father, Jim Entenman, did a first look before he escorted his beautiful daughter down the aisle. Flower Mill did a phenomenal job with the florals and decor. Christine Egan and her quartet provided the instrumentals for the ceremony while Pinnacle Productions helped with all of the sound & production. Mayor Mike did a great job as the couples officiant.

After the ceremony, the bridal party headed onto a trolley provided by Stellar Limo to take more photos with Wes Eisenhauer while the guests headed to the Sioux Falls Convention center for a night for fun & celebration. DJ KOR with Pinnacle Productions provided the entertainment, lighting design, photo booth and PINStudios did the videography.

The Cake Lady provided a beautiful wedding cake & dessert bar. Ideal Wedding & Events provided the rentals & chandeliers. Chaz & Anna were gifted a live painting of their first dance by Jillian Artistry from the Entenman family.

Anna designed all of the paper products herself! It was truly a beautiful wedding and I am so happy you chose me as your MOH & Serendipitous as your planner! What a beautiful day that will be cherished forever!

We love you two! Cheers to forever!

Our *Surprise* Wedding

Our *Surprise* Wedding

Yes, you read that right! The Jessica in Serendipitous Events by Jessica finally tied the knot! and it was a complete surprise to almost every single person who was invited!

Nathan and I have been together for almost six years! six years and two beautiful, rowdy and sassy children later we decided it was time, time to do something that we knew from very early on would happen.

How in the world do you plan a wedding for yourself when you have planned so many for other lovely couples? We considered Arizona, where we had spent a week last March and where we got engaged, we considered the Black Hills and that felt the closest to home for us.  Closest to home until, when I really thought about it our home was the closest we could get.  It was sitting in the very spot I sit now, at our kitchen table that I stumbled in my own thoughts on the idea of a wedding at our home.  Our home is full of history and love, its a place Nathan knew well before we moved in, a place where children were loved and grandchildren were spoiled.  The previous owners are great friends of ours but even farther back they are great friends of Nathans parents. There are memories of cops and robbers on the front bridge, memories of hide and seek and memories of that sweet newborn smell, memories of children leaving for college.  Now we have our own memories here, our Nellie Lynn was brought to this home as a newborn, we have shared laughter and sadness in this home in the short year we have been here.  Our home was the perfect place for us to gather our friends and family to share in our wedding.

Why the surprise? Honestly, I don't know if we really knew right away.  It sounded fun.  As an event planner people are always giving me their ideas and telling me about so and so's events and honestly I love hearing those things but I wanted out wedding to be us, us with no other influence.  A secret was the perfect way.  So we planned an "engagement party" knowing the entire time that we would celebrate our life together and our vows that day.  Our family believed the idea that we would get married in January in the Hills.  The engagement party was basically a pre- reception to their knowledge.

Let the lies begin.  Seriously you guys I lied all of the time.  I might go back to Catholicism just so I can go to confession.  I even made 4 pages of fake notes complete with a seating chart and left them on my kitchen counter when I thought that my Mother in law might have a slight idea as to our secret.   I made sure to keep my Mom, sister and Nates Mom in on some of the "engagement party" planning so found that they would not feel left out.  We chose my dress together and also attire for them that I asked them to wear to the party and the wedding.

Everything was going pretty smooth until my Moms dress came in the mail from the tailor and was never going to work, people she told me this the day before the "party".  Are you kidding me... panic set in, and if you know my mom you would know that she needed the perfect dress.  We shopped and ended up finding her a dress better than her original!  Whew!

Only a select group of people knew, My step Dad who would marry us, my Dad who I told because it was important to me that he was emotionally prepared in that I wanted him to be emotional and not just shocked, our fabulous team of event professionals and a lot of random strangers who would check me out while shopping... because lets be real, I was excited and I can't even shop for Christmas presents too early because I am a disastrous secret keeper.

We chose to get married in front of our front door because I believe that the front door is the symbol of your home.  It was a perfect spot.  We watered a tree to signify the unity of our family.  and my Step Dad did a phenomenal job talking about the significance of the front door to out marriage, you might slam it, you might see through it, you might close it gently, it was perfect.  The entire day was perfect, even as a planner there are things I could do a bit differently but that is just what it is.  It was a magical day that I wish would have lasted an entire week.

ligtenberg7

We told our Moms and my Sister at noon the day of the Wedding! There were a lot of happy tears, and my Mom only panicked about her dress once! :)

[gallery ids="1705,1707,1708,1709" type="rectangular"]

I spent time prior to making sure that we had plenty of fun details.  It was important to us that everyone felt loved.  My bouquet done by Bella Rosa Floral was absolutely stunning.  Many pieces throughout the day held memories, like the ring holder above that I received from my late Grandma.

[gallery ids="1710,1731,1732,1743,1744,1745" type="square"]

Molly of Molly Meester Designs executed my vision for our paper goods perfectly! I can't take them out of the frames, I think they may have to hang in my home office I just love them so much!

[gallery ids="1706,1713,1712,1719" type="square"]

We felt perfectly styled! My dress came from Sandra Rose, Nathan was outfitted by David Jones, I found Nellie's dress at Little Trendsetter and believe it or not Nash had that adorable outfit in his closet.

[gallery ids="1720,1741,1742,1747" type="columns"]

Chef Dominique's catering handed each guest a glass of champagne as the walked up and read the signs about this being our wedding day! Their food received rave reviews as always.  My longtime friend Kelly of Kelly's Cakes created the perfect naked cakes which were devoured in no time.  Nate's mother is pretty famous for her pies so we knew we had to have them on the menu! The chairs we used around our tables came from the Ortman Hotel, here in Canistota.  The chairs are original to the hotel which was built in 1929...That is a whole other blog post, they are significant to us because Nathan is a chiropractor at the Ortman clinic which was founded 101 years ago.

[gallery ids="1724,1722,1721,1723" type="rectangular"]

Watching the surprise our our friends and families faces was priceless.  We invited about 65 of our very closest friends and family.

[gallery ids="1728,1729,1730,1726,1725" type="rectangular"]

A blessing of our marriage before we walked down the aisle was an important piece to our day.  Our mothers gave a toast to kick of the celebration, this was on the invitation as a way to ensure people arrived on time.  A fist bump, because we pulled it all off!

[gallery ids="1727,1735,1737,1738" type="rectangular" orderby="rand"]

Family!

[gallery ids="1739,1740,1746,1750" type="square"]

Music is very important to us so we knew we wanted something other than the traditional.  We opted for a Big Band! Kickin' Brass Big Band did not disappoint... trust me the whole town loved them! Nathan and I danced to Adele's, Sweetest Devotion and My Dad and I danced to a cover of  Sweet Child of Mine!

[gallery ids="1748,1808,1711" type="rectangular"]

I want to thank Loghin, my event planner who made sure to help with all of the details before our day, she kept me organized and on track.  She and our intern Megan took care of setting up all of the details throughout the day. Loghin thank you for going above and beyond, she didn't just do this because I am her boss, she really does take care of every single client! I also owe a huge thank you to Shelon of Shelon Artistry for making me, my Mom, Mother in law and Sister feel beautiful.

Bo and Maddie Jans

What a laid back couple.  Working with Maddie was an absolutely refreshing experience! She was really most excited about tying the knot with her best friend and let the details fall into place.  We opted for a ceremony and reception at Calico Skies Vineyard and Winery in Inwood, IA.  It was the perfect place for her neutral palette and vintage flair.

What Season Do I Choose?

This is a common question that most couples spend time thinking about before they start planning. In our heads we all have the idea of a perfect wedding day. The four beautiful seasons in the Midwest lead to four amazing scenes for a wedding.

Why choose a winter wedding date?

It’s romantic: cold weather provides a great atmosphere to snuggle with your loved ones and not worrying about your makeup melting in the heat.

Wedding dress: there are stunning accessories and over pieces for a dress such as a fur wrap or a velvet cloak

Guests: winter tends to be less busy for many people. There is a greater likely hood more of your invited guests will be able to come.

Honeymoon: a tropical vacation will be much needed!green, blue, red, silver

Emerald green, sapphire blue, silver, deep purple and ruby red

Why choose a spring wedding date?

Flowers: there are so many blooming, fresh flowers that are easy to access

Season: spring is considered the most beautiful season of all by some people. It’s thought of as a season of rebirth, growth and purity.

Climate: a partly cloudy sky in the springtime makes for some of the best photos.

Colors: cheerful, happy, earthy tones will really pop and make a bold statement.

green, blue, purple, pink, brown

Pale green, light teal, purple, pink and light brown or taupe

Why choose a summer wedding date?

Availability: summer is the most popular time of the year to get married so check with your desired venues and vendors about open dates.

Weather: the days are longer which leads to more fun and sunshine. The chance of rain spoiling your big day is minimal.

Color options: there are typically two ideal color palettes for summer weddings- cheerful bright and pretty pastel colors.

Floral variety: there are a wide variety of flowers in season making superb color and style options. The bouquet options are almost endless!

green, yellow, fuchsia, teal

Turquoise, bright green, yellow, peach and fuchsia

yellow, blush pink, baby blue, lavender

Pale yellow, ivory, blush pink, lavender and baby blue

Why choose a fall wedding date?

The beauty: the leaves are turning colors and the breeze is brisk and filling the air.

Enjoyable: cooler temperatures and the rich, bold fall colors will surround you and your guests.

Photos: the colors of the season are said to make some of the most beautiful wedding photos.

Weather: the mystery of the weather will make it a magical day. Rain, sun, snow or even hail is all a possibility in the fall.

purple, gold, brown, orange

Magenta, chocolate brown, reddish orange, orange tones and gold
